SCHOOL BUSES

As chaperones for High School Band road trips, we are required to ride with the students on the buses.

One would think that in all the years school buses have been in existence, bus design engineers would have come up with a seat that would be at least moderately comfortable. They haven't. They remain the most uncomfortable seats on any motorized vehicle I've ever been on.

SPRING'S AROMA

With the lilacs being in bloom this week, the backyard smells wonderful.

Seasonal delicacies come and go quickly, but as one exits, another enters. When the lilacs are gone, the peonies will bloom. The strawberries are now flowering and will be ready to eat in a few weeks. Then it's on to sweet corn and tomatoes (my personal favorite), peppers, onions and spices from the garden.

BRIDGE TO SUMMER

The Birthday Party for my niece and nephew, held out in the woods, has become something of a tradition. Along with a campfire, hot dogs and complete picnic trimmings, we all enjoy fishing, canoeing, mushroom hunting, relaxing and visiting. It happens at a time when Spring is well under way and Summer is not far off.

Some pictures from the party:

ONLY WITH LIGHT
